The Robert M. White Conservation Area is in Audrain County, Missouri. There is not much in Audrain County, so we were glad to have found a nice place to visit.
I took photos of the drive in, just in case there was not much else there! It was a beautiful day.
At the first parking spot was a path to a small ugy fishing pond. The path continued across the conservation area to the White Lake, but we were able to drive there instead.
I thought this was a dragonfly with blue on its wings, but I really have no idea what it is. There were some flying at both ponds.
Our drive down to the next parking lot at White Lake.
Just off the parking lot was where most of the folks were getting in the water to kayak. We were suprised by the amount of cars a kayakers that were there.
We found we could walk around to the side of the lake off the other side of the parking lot.
It was really a beautiful spot! You could see a large part of the lake and lots of wildflowers, birds, and butterflies.
The red-wing blackbirds were entertaining us.
It looked like you could put your kayak in here as well.
