We started our day at the Hermann Farm distillery building where we boarded our horse-drawn buggy (the below larger one).
The English Shire horses were pulling the buggy and they are a beautiful animal!
This is the back of the stone barn where the English Shire stay on the bottom level.
They took us clear across the farm to the front end of the property near Highway 100. It was a short trip, but we were treated to some educational talk over the microphone.
This lake was a beautiful scene on the ride.
Here they talked about the old farm implements located on the farm.
This was an old horse surrounded by goats that the previous owners sold with the farm.
This is the mule bar which is behind the winery as seen looking up the hill.
This is inside the livestock barn which at the bottom of the hill. There are two barns. My ancestor made buggies like this so I like to look at them whenever I see them.
This is inside the Teubner-Hussman house (also below photos).
This is the Reserve Cellars of Hermann winery which is located on the Hermann Farm.
We did not taste or buy any wine, but the cellar space is kind of amazing to walk into!
If we had more time in our day, we might have sat down here for a while. The space is a former press house and cellars of George Husmann “Father of the Missouri Grape Industry.”

We sat in these chairs below the mule barn and looked at the view of the Missouri River.
Then we road the tram back to where we started and this is the back side of the Hermann Farm Distillery.
This is from the back porch of the Rasche House overlooking the Spring House, and behind it the Distillery, and to the left the Barrel Barn.

We visited the Stone Barn near the Rasche House and inside were crafts. Then we walked down to the bottom area to see the Shire horses.
A creek flows from the Spring House across the property. The water in the Spring House was very clear and cool.
These are photos from the drive in and the drive out with the rolling hills and views. That was my favorite part I think!
