We were pleasantly surprised with Reedy Branch Falls. It was a short hike of only .2 of a mile and the waterfall was beautiful. We were the only people there too!
Reedy Branch Falls was our 4th waterfall of the day on June 28, but we were finally barely over the state line into South Carolina. It was our first stop on our week long vacation across South Carolina. It is located right off of Highway 76. When we first entered the state on Highway 76, there seemed to be a nice Chatooga River and folks were in the river. We could have stopped there for a while and enjoyed ourselves too, but it was getting long in the day. Reedy Branch Falls seems to come off of the Chatooga River.
We were in Oconee County, South Carolina.
At the parking lot is an old stone wall and pillars, probably from the 1930's. We stopped to appreciate the handiwork for a bit.
The trail was an easy one. I actually remember it being wider than this photo.
The Reedy Branch Falls are a 30 foot drop.
There was clear water at the base of the falls that I could have put my swimming suit on and sat for a little while. Instead we just stuck our feet in it.
Here is another promise-to-myself photo to get in front of the camera more.
If you are in the area, I recommend this one!
